Ferienhaus Ruhpolding: Private Hot Tub and Ski Lift Right Behind the House

Ferienhaus Ruhpolding is a family holiday home at the foot of the Westernberg in Ruhpolding, in the Chiemgau region of the Bavarian Alps, west of the village centre. The Westernberg ski lift with nursery slope and ski school is right behind the house, and on the terrace a private hot tub (whirlpool) is heated all year round. There is room for up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms, and dogs stay free of charge.

The house is one of three holiday homes by einfach mal durchatmen. We, Jochen & family, furnished it from scratch with families with babies and toddlers especially in mind. During your stay we are there for you by phone, text message or WhatsApp, in German or English.

Private hot tub on the terrace

The hot tub sits on your own terrace, partly covered by the balcony above and screened from the street. It is heated all year, you set the temperature yourselves, and it costs nothing extra. It fits 2 to 3 people. A combination lock makes it child-safe, and quiet hours are from 9:30 pm to 7 am. Jochen checks the water quality himself before every arrival.

The house has no sauna. If you would like one, the Vita Alpina leisure pool is approx. 20 min on foot.

Ski holidays with children: the lift right behind the house

The Westernberg lift with nursery slope, children’s ski area and a ski school with rental is right behind the house, the slope just a few steps around the corner. One guest wrote: “The kids could walk to the ski lift on their own and come home whenever they wanted.” Depending on snow, the lift runs roughly from December to March, with floodlit skiing on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Skis stay on the terrace, and ski boots go on the racks by the entrance. There is no boot dryer. The larger Winklmoosalm/Steinplatte ski area is approx. 18 min by car. Cross-country skiers walk to the practice trail in the village centre, and Ruhpolding has around 155 km of cross-country trails in total.

Ready for babies and toddlers

  • Stair gates at the top and bottom, all sockets covered
  • Travel cots as needed and up to 3 high chairs, free of charge
  • Learning tower in the kitchen, step stool, toddler toilet seat
  • Play kitchen, a whole box of Duplo bricks, board games and books
  • Child carrier backpack for hikes
  • Blackout curtains in all bedrooms
  • Good to know: there is no changing mat and no baby monitor, and the small garden is not fenced.

“You can really tell that families were kept in mind here.”

Three equal bedrooms and plenty of living space

Upstairs there are three bedrooms, each with two single beds 90 × 200 cm. You can push them together or keep them apart, and all three rooms open onto the long balcony with mountain views. The beds are made up when you arrive. There is also a study with a desk and a large monitor.

On the ground floor, the living and dining room opens to the kitchen and terrace and has a 65-inch smart TV with home cinema sound. The table football has a room of its own. The kitchen has a bean-to-cup coffee machine, dishwasher, oven and microwave, and for baking with children there are two baking trays and plenty of cake tins. Organic coffee and tea are included.

All 6 guests share one bathroom with shower and bathtub upstairs, plus a second toilet on the ground floor. The washing machine and tumble dryer are in the basement.

Holidays with your dog in Ruhpolding

Dogs stay free of charge, please let us know in advance. Walking trails on the Westernberg start right at the house, and a bowl and poo bags are provided. Sofas and beds are off-limits for dogs, and they may stay alone in the house for short periods. The small garden is not fenced.

Ruhpolding in summer and winter

In summer you set off on foot from the house, with your child in the carrier or with your dog. The ticket office of the Chiemgau Coaster summer toboggan run is approx. 6 min on foot, there is a playground by the run, and with rain covers it even runs in the rain. Lake Weitsee in the Three Lakes area is approx. 15 min by car.

Every January the Biathlon World Cup takes place at the Chiemgau Arena, approx. 10 min by car. After a day on the slopes, the trails or in the stands, the heated hot tub is waiting.

Location: Ruhpolding at the foot of the Westernberg

The house is at the foot of the Westernberg, west of Ruhpolding village centre in the district of Traunstein. You cannot hear the ski lift or the toboggan run next door from inside the house.
